Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Commis 1 (Pastry & Bakery) to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will assist in the preparation and production of a wide variety of pastries, desserts, bread, and confectionery items, ensuring high-quality standards and consistent presentation.​

Key Responsibilities:

• Preparation and Production: Assist in preparing and producing a variety of pastries, desserts, bread, and other baked goods in line with company standards and guest preferences.​

• Station Management: Maintain a clean and organized workstation, adhering to health, safety, and hygiene standards at all times.​

• Inventory Control: Monitor and manage inventory of pastry ingredients, ensuring proper storage and rotation of stock to maintain freshness and quality.​

• Collaboration: Work effectively with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient kitchen operations, contributing to a positive team environment.​

• Quality Assurance: Ensure all pastry items meet the company’s quality standards in terms of taste, texture, and presentation.​

• Learning and Development: Participate in training sessions and assist in the development of new recipes and menu items as needed.​

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a pastry or baking role, preferably in a high-volume kitchen or bakery setting.​

• Education: Culinary school diploma or relevant certification in baking or pastry arts is preferred.​

• Skills:

  • Proficiency in various baking and pastry techniques, including mixing, baking, decorating, and plating.​

  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately.​

  • Good organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to work efficiently under pressure.​

  • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.​

• Personal Attributes:

  • A passion for pastry and baking, with a creative flair and enthusiasm for learning.​

  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with a positive and proactive attitude.​

  • Flexibility to adapt to changing demands and work in various kitchen sections as needed.​
