Job Summary

Zapata Je Mexican Restaurant is searching for a skilled and passionate Chef de Partie to join our pre-opening team ahead of our grand launch at J1 Beach, Dubai in July 2025. This role is ideal for a culinary professional with pre-opening experience who thrives in crafting authentic Mexican dishes, maintaining high-quality food preparation, and ensuring seamless kitchen operations. The Chef de Partie will oversee a designated section of the kitchen, working closely with senior chefs to execute traditional Mexican flavors with precision and creativity.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in pre-opening kitchen setup, organizing workstations, and ensuring operational readiness.
  • Lead a specific kitchen section, overseeing food preparation, cooking techniques, and plating consistency.
  • Work collaboratively with the Head Chef and Junior Sous Chef to maintain menu quality and authenticity.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene standards, and health regulations.
  • Monitor stock levels, assist in inventory management, and maintain efficient kitchen operations.
  • Contribute to the refinement of Mexican-inspired menu items, bringing creativity to dish presentations.
  • Train and guide junior kitchen staff in techniques, best practices, and workflow efficiency.
  • Support pre-launch events, tastings, and Mexican culinary activations.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Chef de Partie or in a similar role.
  • Pre-opening experience in setting up kitchen operations is highly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Mexican cuisine, traditional dishes, and cooking techniques.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and team leadership skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-energy kitchen environment.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations, portion control, and plating standards.
  • Passion for creating authentic and visually appealing dishes.
