Commis I – Holiday Inn Dubai Al Maktoum | Kitchen Careers in Dubai
Holiday Inn Dubai Al Maktoum, part of IHG Hotels & Resorts, is hiring a Commis I to join its Kitchen team in Dubai. This role suits a cook with a couple of years of hands-on kitchen experience who is ready to take on more responsibility within a section, working closely with senior chefs to prepare and plate dishes to a consistent, high standard. You’ll be part of a fast-paced, professional kitchen that values hygiene, precision, and teamwork, while gaining exposure to international hotel-standard operations under a globally respected brand. It’s a great next step for cooks looking to build a long-term culinary career with clear paths for growth into Commis I, II, and eventually Chef de Partie roles. Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepare and portion ingredients following recipes and hotel standards
- Assist section chefs with daily mise en place and cooking tasks
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the section in line with HACCP standards
- Monitor stock levels and report shortages to the Demi Chef de Partie
- Support other kitchen sections during peak service as required
Requirements
- Minimum 1–2 years of kitchen experience in a hotel or restaurant environment
- Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices
- Culinary diploma or equivalent training preferred
- Ability to work under pressure during busy service periods
- Team player with a strong willingness to learn
