Role Overview

The Barback supports the bar team by maintaining stock, preparing garnishes, ensuring glassware and equipment are ready, and keeping the bar area clean and organized. In the pre‑opening phase you will help set up bar workflows, assist with equipment testing, and support trial shifts and soft openings. This role suits someone who is physically fit, attentive to detail, and eager to learn the operational rhythms of a high‑volume, concept‑driven bar.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Restock and replenish bar supplies including glassware, ice, garnishes, mixers, and disposables to ensure uninterrupted service.
• Maintain bar cleanliness by clearing used glassware, wiping down surfaces, and ensuring service stations are tidy and presentable.
• Support bartenders during peak periods by assisting with basic prep tasks, fetching ingredients, and helping with simple drink assembly as directed.
• Collect and wash glassware efficiently, ensuring items are sanitized and returned to service promptly.
• Assist with inventory and deliveries: receive stock, check deliveries against invoices, rotate stock, and store items correctly.
• Prepare garnishes and mise en place according to recipes and presentation standards; label and store prepped items safely.
• Monitor equipment and supplies, report faults or shortages to the Bar Manager, and assist with basic equipment setup during pre‑opening.
• Support event setups and breakdowns, ensuring bar stations are ready for private functions and promotional nights.
• Follow health, safety, and hygiene protocols at all times, including proper handling of glassware, ice, and food‑adjacent items.
• Assist with waste management and recycling to maintain a safe and efficient back‑of‑bar environment.

Requirements

• Previous barback, stewarding, or kitchen support experience preferred but not mandatory; strong willingness to learn is essential.
• Physically fit and able to stand for long periods, lift crates, and move quickly during busy shifts.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills; ability to follow instructions and support a fast‑paced bar team.
• Attention to detail with a focus on cleanliness, organization, and timely replenishment.
• Basic understanding of bar operations and beverage service flow is an advantage.
• Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
• Professional appearance and punctuality.
• Valid UAE work authorization or clear visa status; include visa details in your application.
