Iconic Plaza Hotel is seeking an experienced, organized Laundry Supervisor to lead our laundry operations and ensure high standards of cleanliness, efficiency, and garment care. This role manages the laundry team, oversees equipment and inventory, and maintains compliance with hygiene and safety procedures to support seamless guest services.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Team Leadership — Supervise, train, and schedule laundry attendants; conduct performance reviews and coach staff on standards.
• Operations Management — Oversee washing, drying, pressing, folding, and finishing processes to meet quality and turnaround targets.
• Quality Control — Inspect linens, uniforms, and guest garments for stains, damage, and proper finishing; implement corrective actions.
• Equipment and Maintenance — Monitor laundry machinery performance; coordinate routine maintenance and report faults to engineering.
• Inventory and Stock Control — Manage linen and chemical inventories; order supplies, track usage, and enforce FIFO storage.
• Health, Safety and Compliance — Enforce PPE use, chemical handling procedures, and HACCP/food‑service laundry standards where applicable.
• Record Keeping and Reporting — Maintain daily production logs, loss/damage reports, and shift handover notes; report KPIs to management.
• Cost Control and Efficiency — Identify opportunities to reduce waste, optimize load planning, and improve energy/water efficiency.
• Guest Interaction — Handle guest laundry requests and special care items professionally; resolve complaints promptly.

Requirements

• Experience — Minimum 2 years supervising laundry or stewarding operations in a hotel, hospital, or large commercial laundry.
• Education — Minimum KCSE or equivalent; vocational training in laundry operations or hospitality is an advantage.
• Skills — Strong leadership and communication; knowledge of industrial laundry equipment, detergents, and stain removal techniques.
• Technical — Basic mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting machines; familiarity with inventory systems preferred.
• Attributes — Detail oriented, reliable, able to prioritize under pressure, and committed to high standards of cleanliness.
• Physical — Able to stand for long periods and lift up to 25 kg safely.
• Availability — Willingness to work rotating shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
• Legal — Right to work in Kenya and ability to pass background checks.
