Iconic Plaza Hotel is hiring dedicated Room Attendants to join our housekeeping team. This role ensures guest rooms and corridors are spotless, comfortable, and welcoming, directly shaping the guest experience through attention to detail, discretion, and reliable service.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Room Cleaning — Clean and service guest rooms to hotel standards, including making beds, dusting, vacuuming, and polishing surfaces.
  • Linen and Amenities — Replace bed linen and towels; restock in‑room amenities, minibar items, and guest supplies.
  • Bathroom Care — Clean and sanitize bathrooms, replenish toiletries, and ensure fixtures are spotless and functioning.
  • Inspection and Reporting — Inspect rooms after cleaning for maintenance issues, damage, or missing items; report findings to housekeeping supervisor.
  • Turn‑Down Service — Perform evening turndown service where required, ensuring rooms are guest‑ready for night.
  • Lost and Found — Handle found items according to hotel policy and log them appropriately.
  • Health and Safety Compliance — Follow cleaning chemical guidelines, PPE use, and hotel hygiene standards.
  • Team Support — Assist with laundry runs, deep‑clean projects, and support other departments during peak periods or events.

Requirements

  • Education — Minimum KCSE or equivalent; basic literacy and numeracy.
  • Experience — Prior housekeeping or cleaning experience preferred but not required; on‑the‑job training provided.
  • Skills — Strong attention to detail; ability to follow checklists and procedures; basic time management.
  • Physical — Able to stand, bend, and lift up to 20–25 kg; comfortable with repetitive tasks and a fast pace.
  • Attributes — Reliable, discreet, courteous, and guest‑focused with a positive attitude.
  • Availability — Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
  • Legal — Right to work in Kenya and ability to pass background checks.
  • Certifications — Basic hygiene or housekeeping training is an advantage.
