This entry‑level role supports cooks and chefs by keeping the kitchen running smoothly through basic food prep, cleaning, and stock handling. Duties and Responsibilities

  • Basic food preparation: wash, peel, chop, and portion vegetables and ingredients according to prep lists.
  • Support cooks: assist with simple assembly and basic plating under supervision during service.
  • Cleaning and sanitation: clean and sanitize workstations, equipment, utensils, and dishware; maintain a tidy BOH.
  • Receiving and storage: accept deliveries, check quantities and temperatures, label and store stock using FIFO.
  • Waste management: separate and dispose of waste correctly and follow recycling procedures.
  • Station upkeep: restock service stations, replenish disposables, and ensure all tools are service‑ready.
  • Health and safety: follow HACCP and food safety guidelines, report hazards, and wear required PPE.

Requirements

  • Experience: 6–12 months in a commercial kitchen preferred but not essential; willingness to learn is critical.
  • Skills: basic knife handling, ability to follow recipes and instructions, and attention to detail.
  • Physical: able to stand for long periods, lift up to 25 kg, and work in a hot, fast environment.
  • Availability: flexible to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
  • Eligibility: legal right to work in the UAE.
  • Personal attributes: punctual, reliable, team‑oriented, and able to work calmly under pressure.
  • Desirable: basic food safety certification and references from previous kitchen roles.
