Introduction

Join MADO UAE as a Barista and become the face of our beverage experience, delivering expertly crafted coffee and beverage service that complements our signature food offerings. As a Barista at MADO you will combine technical skill with genuine hospitality to create consistently excellent drinks and memorable guest moments. This role suits someone who is passionate about coffee culture, enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in both speed and precision. You will work closely with service teams to support breakfast, brunch, and all-day dining periods, ensuring beverage quality, café presentation, and efficient service flow. The position offers practical training on specialty espresso equipment, opportunities to develop latte art and menu knowledge, and a clear pathway into supervisory or beverage-development roles within MADO’s UAE outlets.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve hot and cold beverages to MADO standards, including espresso-based drinks, filter coffee, teas, specialty seasonal beverages, and cold brews.
  • Operate and care for espresso machines, grinders, brewers, and other beverage equipment according to manufacturer guidelines and in line with company cleaning schedules.
  • Execute consistent extraction and milk-texturing techniques to ensure quality, taste, and visual presentation of each beverage.
  • Maintain speed and accuracy during peak service periods while ensuring each drink meets recipe and portion specifications.
  • Greet guests warmly, take beverage orders, answer product questions, and provide recommendations to enhance the guest experience.
  • Prepare mise en place for beverage service: grind coffee to specification, calibrate grinders, set up brewing parameters, and stage ingredients and garnishes.
  • Monitor inventory of coffee beans, milk, syrups, teas, and consumables; rotate stock using FIFO principles and communicate shortages or quality issues to supervisors.
  • Clean and sanitise the coffee station, glassware, utensils, and equipment regularly; complete daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning checklists.
  • Create and maintain attractive beverage displays and signage; ensure price lists and menus are accurate and readable.
  • Train and mentor junior baristas and front-of-house staff on basic beverage preparation and service standards when required.
  • Follow allergen handling protocols and accurately record special dietary requests to prevent cross-contact.
  • Contribute to beverage development by testing new recipes, suggesting seasonal offerings, and participating in tastings and trials.
  • Adhere to cash-handling and POS procedures when taking orders and processing payments; support takeaway and delivery order workflows.
  • Comply with food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety policies at all times.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1–2 years’ experience as a Barista or in a similar role within a café, restaurant, or hotel environment.
  • Strong knowledge of espresso extraction, milk steaming, and basic latte-art techniques; experience with commercial espresso machines and grinders.
  • Good understanding of coffee origins, roast profiles, and brewing methods; willingness to continue learning about specialty coffee.
  • Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, professional manner and ability to work under pressure.
  • Basic numeracy and POS handling experience; reliability with cash and electronic transactions.
  • Strong attention to detail, consistency, and pride in presentation.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including early mornings, weekends, and public holidays as rostered.
  • Good communication skills in English; additional languages are beneficial.
  • Food safety awareness; a valid food handler certificate is an advantage.
  • Physical capability to stand for long periods, lift moderate weights, and work in a warm environment.

Application Process

  • How to apply: Email your updated CV and a brief cover note highlighting barista experience, skills, and availability to info@mado.ae or apply via careers.yalladuka.com.

  • Performance-based incentives, monthly recognition, and customer service awards.
  • Staff meals during shifts and provision of professional uniforms.
  • Structured training on espresso equipment, coffee theory, and customer service, plus opportunities for advanced workshops and barista certifications.

  • Supportive, multicultural workplace that values teamwork, fairness, and professional growth.
