Department Manager — Job Posting Summary
We are looking for a proactive, customer‑focused Department Manager to lead a key product area within our stores in Abu Dhabi or Dubai. You will be responsible for driving department sales, coaching a small team, ensuring outstanding product presentation, and delivering a seamless customer experience. This role suits a hands‑on leader who combines commercial awareness with strong people management and operational discipline.
Key Responsibilities
- Sales Performance: Own department sales targets and KPIs; analyze daily and weekly sales data and implement corrective actions to meet goals.
- Team Leadership: Recruit, train, schedule, and develop department staff; set clear expectations and provide ongoing coaching and feedback.
- Customer Experience: Ensure high standards of customer service; manage escalations and resolve customer issues professionally and promptly.
- Merchandising and Visual Standards: Execute merchandising plans; maintain product presentation, pricing accuracy, and promotional displays to brand guidelines.
- Stock and Inventory: Monitor stock levels, coordinate replenishment and transfers, perform regular stock counts, and minimize shrinkage.
- Operational Compliance: Ensure adherence to opening/closing procedures, cash handling, health & safety, and company policies.
- Reporting and Administration: Prepare department reports, assist with payroll and scheduling, and support store management with ad hoc operational tasks.
Requirements
- Experience: 3–5 years in retail with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory or assistant manager role; experience in the relevant product category is an advantage.
- Skills: Proven ability to drive sales and coach teams; strong customer service orientation; good numerical and analytical skills for sales reporting.
- Technical: Comfortable using POS systems, inventory tools, and basic MS Office (Excel) for reporting.
- Personal Attributes: Organized, decisive, resilient, and able to work under pressure; strong communication skills in English; collaborative mindset.
- Availability: Flexible to work retail hours including weekends and public holidays; able to travel between Abu Dhabi and Dubai when required.
- Education: High school diploma required; diploma or degree in Business, Retail Management, or related field preferred.
