Position Summary:

The DCDP (Arabic Cuisine) will work closely with the Head Chef or designated Arabic Cuisine Chef to prepare, execute, and refine authentic Arabic dishes. This role demands a strong foundation in traditional Arabic cooking techniques, a creative approach to presentation, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene. The ideal candidate is experienced in a fast-paced kitchen environment and motivated to contribute to a menu that honors tradition while embracing modern culinary trends.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Arabic Cuisine Preparation:
    • Assist in the preparation and execution of traditional Arabic appetizers, soups, main courses, and desserts.
    • Follow established recipes and innovate when required while preserving the authentic flavors of Arabic cuisine.
    • Ensure consistent portion control and high-quality presentation of each dish.
  • Station & Equipment Management:
    • Manage and maintain your designated kitchen station, ensuring all ingredients and tools specific to Arabic cuisine are prepped and stored appropriately.
    • Regularly clean and sanitize work surfaces and equipment, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Quality Assurance & Safety Compliance:
    • Monitor cooking processes to ensure that all dishes meet the hotel’s quality standards and adhere to strict food safety protocols.
    • Record and monitor temperature logs and ingredient freshness to guarantee optimum quality.
  • Team Collaboration:
    • Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure smooth operations, especially during peak hours.
    • Communicate effectively with fellow chefs to address any challenges and ensure the timely delivery of high-quality meals.
  • Continuous Development:
    • Participate in ongoing training sessions and culinary workshops to refine your skills in Arabic cuisine.
    • Stay updated with current culinary trends and incorporate them, where appropriate, to enhance menu offerings.

Requirements:

  • Education & Certification:
    • A culinary degree or diploma is preferred; specialized training or certification in Arabic cuisine is a distinct advantage.
  • Experience:
    • A minimum of 2-3 years’ experience working in a fast-paced kitchen, with a proven record in preparing authentic Arabic dishes.
  • Skills & Abilities:
    • Strong foundational knowledge of traditional Arabic spices, ingredients, and cooking techniques.
    • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
    • Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and quality.
    • Strong communication skills and a collaborative spirit to thrive in a team-oriented environment.
    • Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
  • Working Conditions:
    • The role requires physical stamina to work on your feet for extended periods in a busy kitchen environment.
    • Must be adaptable to the fast-paced and dynamic nature of a high-volume culinary setting.
