Commis Chef Jobs in Dubai – AURA Skypool, Palm Jumeirah
AURA Skypool is looking for motivated Commis Chefs to join the kitchen brigade at Dubai’s most iconic rooftop destination on the 50th floor of The Palm Tower. This is an excellent opportunity to build your culinary career within Sunset Hospitality Group, one of the region’s leading lifestyle hospitality companies.
As a Commis you will support chefs de partie and senior chefs with mise en place, preparation, portioning and basic cooking tasks across different sections of the kitchen. You will learn recipes, techniques and presentation standards first-hand while keeping your station clean, safe and well organised. The role suits a hardworking, hungry-to-learn chef with culinary training or early kitchen experience who wants structured development, real mentorship and a clear path towards Chef de Partie.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist senior chefs with mise en place, food preparation, portioning and basic cooking
- Follow recipes, specifications and presentation standards under supervision
- Keep your workstation, equipment and tools clean, organised and safe at all times
- Support with receiving deliveries, storing goods and stock rotation (FIFO)
- Monitor food quality and freshness, reporting any issues to senior chefs
- Rotate across kitchen sections to develop broader culinary skills
- Follow all HACCP, hygiene and health and safety procedures
Requirements
- Culinary diploma, apprenticeship or relevant kitchen experience preferred
- Genuine passion for cooking and eagerness to learn and progress
- Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques, knife skills and kitchen equipment
- Understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
- Ability to work well under pressure and as part of a busy brigade
- Good basic English and a positive, reliable attitude
- Flexibility to work shifts, weekends and public holidays
