Co-operative Bank of Kenya is seeking a qualified and motivated Mechanical Engineer to join our Projects and Facilities team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining mechanical systems and equipment to ensure the efficient operation of the Bank’s infrastructure.

🛠️ Key Responsibilities

  • Design & Development: Design and develop mechanical systems and components for new and existing facilities.

  • Maintenance & Optimization: Oversee the maintenance and optimization of mechanical systems to ensure reliability and efficiency.

  • Project Management: Manage mechanical engineering projects from conception through to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including architects, electrical engineers, and contractors, to integrate mechanical systems into building designs.

  • Compliance & Standards: Ensure all mechanical systems comply with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.

  • Troubleshooting & Support: Provide technical support and troubleshooting for mechanical systems and equipment.

  • Documentation: Maintain detailed records of designs, modifications, and maintenance activities.

🎓 Qualifications & Experience

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.

  • Experience: A minimum of 2 years’ experience in mechanical engineering, preferably in a commercial or industrial setting.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks), and knowledge of mechanical design principles and practices.

  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Teamwork: Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with various stakeholders.
