Painter

Royal Rose Abu Dhabi, proudly part of the Curio Collection by Hilton, is seeking a skilled and reliable Painter to join our engineering and maintenance team. This hands-on role is ideal for a tradesperson who takes pride in high-quality finishes, understands surface preparation and paint application techniques, and can work efficiently across guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces. The Painter will support the hotel’s appearance and upkeep by executing scheduled maintenance, responding to ad-hoc touch-ups, and collaborating with maintenance colleagues to ensure safety and minimal disruption to guests. The successful candidate will demonstrate attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and the ability to follow technical specifications and brand standards while maintaining a professional, guest-conscious presence throughout the property.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Surface Preparation: Inspect, clean, sand, and prime surfaces to ensure proper adhesion and long-lasting finishes.
• Painting and Finishing: Apply paints, varnishes, stains, and protective coatings using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment to achieve uniform, high-quality results.
• Touch-ups and Repairs: Perform routine touch-ups in guest rooms, corridors, public areas, and service zones; repair minor plaster, drywall, and surface defects prior to painting.
• Color Matching and Standards: Match paint colors accurately and follow Royal Rose Abu Dhabi and Curio Collection brand appearance guidelines.
• Equipment and Material Management: Maintain painting tools and equipment, manage inventory of paints and consumables, and report supply needs.
• Health and Safety Compliance: Follow safe work practices, use personal protective equipment, and ensure proper ventilation and containment to protect guests and colleagues.
• Coordination and Communication: Liaise with housekeeping, engineering, and front office to schedule works with minimal guest impact and provide status updates.
• Record Keeping: Complete maintenance logs, job sheets, and handover notes for ongoing projects and warranty tracking.

Requirements

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certificate in painting, decorating, or a related trade preferred.
• Experience: Minimum 2 years of professional painting experience, preferably in hotels, commercial properties, or high-end residential projects.
• Skills: Proficient in surface preparation, multiple application techniques, color matching, and use of spray equipment; basic plaster and drywall repair skills.
• Technical: Knowledge of paint types, primers, sealants, and appropriate application methods for different substrates.
• Personal Attributes: Strong attention to detail; reliable and punctual; ability to work independently and as part of a team; guest-focused attitude and professional presentation.
• Physical Requirements: Able to stand, bend, climb ladders, and handle manual tasks for extended periods; comfortable working at heights when required.
• Availability: Flexible to work shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays as needed.
• Legal: Right to work in the UAE and any required local certifications or permits.
