Hostess — HookahPlace, Dubai Creek Harbour, Dubai, UAE
HookahPlace MENA is hiring a Hostess for its new lounge opening at Dubai Creek Harbour this autumn. As the first person every guest meets, you will set the tone for the entire visit — managing the reception desk, handling reservations, controlling the table plan and making sure arrivals are seated smoothly even at the busiest hours. This is a front-of-house role for someone who is naturally warm, well-presented and calm under pressure, with a genuine interest in hospitality rather than a passing one. You will work closely with the floor team and management on VIP bookings, special occasions and guest preferences, and you will have the rare opportunity to help establish service culture in a brand-new venue from opening day. Previous hostess or reception experience in a restaurant, lounge or hotel is required, along with good conversational English and current residence in Dubai.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Greet arriving guests, manage the reception desk and create a warm first impression of the venue.
- Handle reservations by phone, WhatsApp and booking platforms, and maintain an accurate table plan.
- Seat guests according to section rotation, party size and server availability.
- Manage waiting lists during peak hours and keep guests informed of realistic wait times.
- Coordinate with the floor team and management on VIP bookings, special occasions and guest preferences.
- Answer guest enquiries about the menu, shisha offering and venue, and handle basic complaints or escalate them appropriately.
Requirements
- Previous hostess or reception experience in a restaurant, lounge or hotel.
- Good conversational English; Arabic or Russian is an advantage.
- Presentable, well-groomed and confident in guest-facing situations.
- Familiarity with reservation systems such as SevenRooms, OpenTable or similar.
- Able to work evening shifts, weekends and public holidays.
- Currently based in Dubai; candidates with their own valid UAE visa will be given preference.
