Commis I – The Mangroves Abu Dhabi, LXR Hotels & Resorts | Abu Dhabi Jobs
The Commis I is a key support in the kitchen, preparing ingredients, cooking basic dishes and keeping the section running efficiently. In the lead-up to opening you will help organise the kitchen, learn the menus and practise the standards expected at a luxury resort. It is an excellent role for a motivated cook with some experience who wants to learn from experienced chefs, build technical skills and progress within an international hotel group. As part of the pre-opening culinary and stewarding team, the Commis I will help set kitchen standards from day one at The Mangroves Abu Dhabi, LXR Hotels & Resorts. The hotel is hosting an invitation-only Recruitment Day, and shortlisted candidates will be contacted with an invitation to attend. Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook food items under the guidance of the Chef de Partie.
- Carry out daily mise en place, including washing, cutting and portioning ingredients.
- Follow recipes, plating standards and portion control accurately.
- Keep work areas, tools and equipment clean and safe in line with HACCP.
- Receive, store and rotate products correctly to reduce waste.
Requirements
- At least one year of kitchen experience, preferably in a hotel or restaurant.
- Basic knowledge of cooking methods and food hygiene.
- Willingness to learn and take direction from senior chefs.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen and handle shift work.
- Culinary training or certificate preferred.
