Specialty Barista 1 application

Home Bakery is seeking a skilled Specialty Barista to join our Front Of House team in Abu Dhabi. You’ll craft espresso-based drinks, manage the coffee station, and help shape a memorable café experience through attention to detail and warm service. We value baristas who combine technical expertise—espresso extraction, milk texturing, alternative brews—with a friendly, guest-focused approach. Duties and Responsibilities

• Beverage Preparation: Pull consistent espresso shots; steam and texture milk to specification; prepare pour-overs, batch brews, and other specialty methods.
• Quality Control: Calibrate grinders and espresso machines; monitor extraction times and adjust recipes to maintain flavor consistency.
• Presentation: Create attractive latte art and plate/serve beverages to Home Bakery standards; ensure every drink meets taste and visual expectations.
• Customer Interaction: Greet guests, explain coffee origins and menu items, make recommendations, and handle guest feedback professionally.
• Station Maintenance: Keep the coffee station clean and organized; perform daily cleaning, backflushing, and basic equipment upkeep.
• Inventory and Ordering: Track coffee bean, milk, and supply levels; report shortages and assist with stock rotation.
• Training and Mentorship: Coach junior baristas on techniques, recipes, and service standards when required.

Requirements

• Experience: Minimum 2 years of specialty coffee or café experience in the UAE.
• Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of espresso extraction, grinder calibration, milk steaming, and manual brewing methods.
• Availability: Able to join immediately and work flexible shifts including weekends and public holidays.
• Communication: Clear English communication; friendly, guest-focused demeanor.
• Attitude: Passion for coffee, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Authorization: Valid UAE work permit and residency in Abu Dhabi preferred.
