Duties and Responsibilities
Engineering Supervisor
- Supervise and schedule the engineering team to ensure daily maintenance work is completed on time
- Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance of building systems, MEP equipment and guest rooms
- Respond quickly to guest and department work orders and prioritise urgent repairs
- Monitor health and safety standards, permits to work and compliance with IHG brand standards
- Control tools, spare parts and contractor activity while supporting the team with training and coaching
General Technician
- Carry out routine repairs and maintenance in guest rooms, public areas and back-of-house
- Handle basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, painting and fixture repairs
- Complete preventive maintenance checklists and log all work orders accurately
- Respond promptly to guest and colleague maintenance requests
- Follow safety procedures and report any hazards or equipment faults
Wallpaper Technician
- Install, repair and replace wallpaper in guest rooms, corridors and public areas
- Prepare wall surfaces by cleaning, filling and smoothing before application
- Measure, cut and match patterns accurately to minimise waste
- Inspect existing wall coverings and carry out timely touch-ups to maintain brand standards
- Keep materials, tools and work areas clean, organised and safe
Carpenter
- Build, repair and maintain furniture, doors, cabinets, wardrobes and fittings
- Carry out joinery and woodwork for guest rooms and public areas from drawings or instructions
- Repair damaged items such as headboards, tables and door frames with a high-quality finish
- Maintain woodworking tools and machinery, and keep stocks of materials under control
- Follow health and safety rules, especially when using power tools
Electrician
- Maintain, test and repair electrical systems, lighting, sockets and distribution boards
- Troubleshoot faults in guest room, kitchen, laundry and public area equipment
- Carry out preventive maintenance and periodic inspections of electrical installations
- Replace and install fittings, wiring and electrical components safely
- Apply lock-out/tag-out and all electrical safety procedures, and keep accurate records
Gardener
- Maintain lawns, plants, trees, flower beds and landscaped areas around the hotel
- Water, prune, fertilise and treat plants in line with the Dubai climate
- Operate and maintain irrigation systems and gardening equipment
- Keep outdoor areas clean, tidy and welcoming for guests at all times
- Replace seasonal plants and report any irrigation or landscaping issues
Spa Therapist
- Deliver professional massage, body and facial treatments to a high standard
- Welcome guests, review treatment needs and recommend suitable therapies and products
- Maintain a clean, hygienic and relaxing treatment room environment
- Follow spa health, safety and sanitation procedures at all times
- Support spa product sales and help achieve guest satisfaction and revenue targets
Requirements
Engineering Supervisor
- Proven experience in a hotel or similar facility engineering environment, ideally in a supervisory role
- Diploma or technical qualification in electrical, mechanical or related engineering
- Strong knowledge of MEP systems, preventive maintenance and safety standards
- Good leadership, communication and problem-solving skills
- Good English; ability to work shifts, weekends and holidays
General Technician
- Previous hotel or facility maintenance experience preferred
- Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry and general repairs
- Ability to read basic instructions and complete tasks independently
- Good teamwork, responsiveness and attention to detail
- Basic English; flexibility to work in shifts
Wallpaper Technician
- Proven experience in wallpaper installation, ideally in hotels or commercial projects
- Skill in surface preparation, pattern matching and neat finishing
- Good eye for detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Basic English; physically fit and comfortable working at heights
Carpenter
- Proven experience as a carpenter or joiner, ideally in hospitality
- Ability to read drawings and work with hand and power tools
- Skill in furniture repair, joinery and finishing
- Good time management and attention to detail
- Basic English; adherence to workplace safety rules
Electrician
- Technical qualification or trade certificate in electrical work
- Previous experience in hotel or commercial building maintenance preferred
- Sound knowledge of electrical safety and UAE regulations
- Ability to troubleshoot faults quickly and accurately
- Basic English; willingness to work shifts and respond to urgent calls
Gardener
- Previous experience in landscaping or gardening, preferably in hotels or resorts
- Knowledge of plant care, irrigation and gardening equipment
- Ability to work outdoors in warm weather
- Reliable, hardworking and detail-oriented
- Basic English; flexibility to work in shifts
Spa Therapist
- Recognised qualification in massage and spa therapy (e.g. CIBTAC, ITEC or equivalent)
- Previous experience as a spa therapist in a hotel or resort spa preferred
- Strong knowledge of massage, body and facial treatments
- Warm, professional and guest-focused personality
- Good English; flexibility to work shifts, weekends and holidays
