Iconic Plaza Hotel is seeking attentive, hardworking Public Area Attendants to maintain the cleanliness, safety, and presentation of all hotel public spaces. This role ensures that lobbies, corridors, restrooms, and shared areas remain spotless and welcoming, creating a strong first impression for every guest.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Public Area Cleaning — Clean and sanitize lobbies, hallways, elevators, staircases, restrooms, and other shared spaces.
  • Restroom Maintenance — Replenish toiletries, monitor cleanliness, and ensure facilities remain guest‑ready at all times.
  • Surface Care — Dust, polish, and wipe furniture, fixtures, glass, and décor elements.
  • Floor Care — Vacuum carpets, mop floors, and maintain cleanliness of high‑traffic areas.
  • Waste Management — Empty bins, replace liners, and ensure proper waste disposal.
  • Guest Support — Assist guests with directions, respond to simple requests, and report any concerns to supervisors.
  • Safety and Reporting — Identify and report maintenance issues, spills, hazards, or damaged items promptly.
  • Event Support — Assist with setup, cleaning, and breakdown of meeting rooms and event spaces when required.
  • Lost and Found — Handle found items according to hotel policy.

Requirements

  • Education — Minimum KCSE or equivalent.
  • Experience — Previous cleaning or housekeeping experience preferred but not required; training provided.
  • Skills — Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and equipment; ability to follow checklists and safety procedures.
  • Physical — Able to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 20–25 kg; comfortable with repetitive tasks.
  • Attributes — Reliable, detail oriented, polite, and committed to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
  • Availability — Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
  • Legal — Right to work in Kenya and ability to pass background checks.
