Zapata Je Mexican Restaurant is looking for Junior Baristas to join our pre-opening team as we gear up for our grand launch at J1 Beach, Dubai in July 2025. This is an exciting opportunity for budding coffee enthusiasts who are passionate about specialty coffee, Mexican-inspired beverages, and customer service. If you have some experience in coffee preparation and a keen interest in learning from seasoned professionals, this role will help you refine your craft in an energetic, beachfront setting.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in pre-opening setup, including organizing the coffee bar and familiarizing yourself with brewing equipment.
  • Prepare espresso-based drinks, teas, and Mexican-inspired beverages under the guidance of senior baristas.
  • Learn and perfect latte art, brewing techniques, and coffee presentation.
  • Ensure consistency in drink preparation and uphold quality standards.
  • Engage with customers in a warm and inviting manner, providing recommendations and enhancing their experience.
  • Support inventory management, cleanliness, and hygiene in the coffee bar area.
  • Collaborate with the team to deliver smooth and efficient service.
  • Participate in special events, promotions, and themed beverage activations.

Requirements

  • Some prior experience in coffee preparation or a strong passion for barista work.
  • Basic knowledge of espresso machines, brewing methods, and specialty coffee.
  • Willingness to learn and grow under mentorship from experienced baristas.
  • Strong customer service skills with a friendly and energetic personality.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
  • Enthusiasm for Mexican flavors and beverage culture is a plus.
