Nezha Restaurant and Cafe is seeking a committed and proactive Assistant Manager to support our front-of-house operations across shifts and help deliver an exceptional dining experience. The successful candidate will work closely with the Restaurant Manager to coordinate daily service, lead and motivate the floor team, and ensure every guest receives attentive, timely, and courteous service. This role requires a hands-on leader who can step in during busy periods, resolve guest concerns with professionalism, and maintain high standards of cleanliness, safety, and operational efficiency. You will play a key part in staff development by assisting with scheduling, on-the-job training, and performance feedback, helping to build a cohesive team that consistently meets service targets. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as is the ability to remain calm under pressure and make quick, customer-focused decisions. Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support Operations: Assist the Restaurant Manager with opening and closing procedures, inventory checks, and daily operational tasks.
  • Team Supervision: Supervise front-of-house staff during service, ensuring smooth table flow and timely service delivery.
  • Guest Relations: Handle guest enquiries and complaints professionally, turning challenges into positive experiences.
  • Staff Scheduling and Training: Help prepare rosters, coordinate shift coverage, and deliver on-the-job training for new and existing team members.
  • Performance Monitoring: Observe service standards, provide constructive feedback, and support performance reviews.
  • Compliance and Safety: Ensure adherence to company policies, hygiene standards, and health and safety regulations.
  • Operational Support: Coordinate with kitchen, barista, and back-of-house teams to maintain service consistency and resolve operational issues.

Requirements

  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead and motivate a service team.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and interpersonal skills with a customer-first mindset.
  • Pressure Management: Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and making sound decisions under pressure.
  • Attention to Detail: Focus on service quality, presentation, and operational accuracy.
  • Experience: Prior experience in a supervisory or assistant manager role within hospitality is preferred.
  • Professionalism: Reliable, punctual, and committed to upholding brand standards.
