Majestic Hotel Group is seeking passionate, hardworking, and growth‑oriented Commis Chefs (I, II & III) to join our Culinary team. These roles are ideal for individuals at different stages of their kitchen career who are eager to learn, develop strong cooking skills, and contribute to a high‑performing kitchen environment. As a Commis Chef, you will support food preparation, maintain hygiene standards, assist senior chefs, and ensure smooth daily operations. Each level carries increasing responsibility, offering a clear pathway for career progression within Majestic’s culinary brigade.


Commis I — Senior Commis

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook dishes under the guidance of the Demi Chef and Chef de Partie.
  • Manage a small part of a section independently during service.
  • Assist with mise‑en‑place, portioning, and plating.
  • Maintain high standards of food quality, taste, and presentation.
  • Support junior commis and help train new team members.
  • Follow HACCP and kitchen hygiene standards.
  • Assist with stock rotation, labeling, and daily requisitions.

Requirements

  • 2–3 years of experience as Commis I or strong Commis II background.
  • Solid cooking techniques and good knife skills.
  • Culinary diploma preferred.

Commis II — Intermediate Commis

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing ingredients, basic cooking, and plating.
  • Support the Chef de Partie and Commis I with mise‑en‑place.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the workstation.
  • Follow recipes, portion standards, and food safety guidelines.
  • Assist with stock checks and proper storage.

Requirements

  • 1–2 years of experience in a professional kitchen.
  • Basic cooking knowledge and willingness to learn.
  • Culinary training is an advantage.

Commis III — Entry‑Level Commis

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support basic food preparation such as chopping, peeling, and portioning.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen and equipment.
  • Assist with mise‑en‑place under supervision.
  • Follow hygiene and safety procedures at all times.
  • Learn and develop skills across different kitchen sections.

Requirements

  • 0–1 year of experience; fresh graduates welcome.
  • Strong work ethic and eagerness to grow.
  • Basic understanding of kitchen hygiene.

General Requirements (All Levels)

  • Passion for cooking and hospitality.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced, high‑heat environment.
  • Team player with a positive attitude.
  • Basic English communication.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
  • Legal right to work in the UAE or the country where the role is based.
