Royal Rose Abu Dhabi, proudly part of the Curio Collection by Hilton, is looking for a reliable and hardworking Steward to join our food and beverage team. The Steward plays a vital role in maintaining kitchen cleanliness, supporting culinary and service teams, and ensuring all back-of-house operations run smoothly. This hands-on position suits someone who works efficiently under pressure, follows hygiene and safety standards rigorously, and takes pride in contributing to a seamless guest dining experience. The successful candidate will be a team player with strong attention to detail, a positive attitude, and the physical stamina to handle a fast-paced hospitality environment.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Dishwashing and Cleaning: Operate dishwashing machines, wash pots, pans, and utensils by hand when required, and ensure all items are sanitized and stored correctly.
  • Kitchen Support: Assist chefs and cooks with basic food preparation tasks, plate clearing, and mise en place as directed.
  • Back-of-House Maintenance: Keep kitchen, scullery, storage, and service areas clean and organized; sweep, mop, and remove waste regularly.
  • Equipment Care: Clean and maintain kitchen equipment, report faults, and assist with basic preventative maintenance and inventory checks.
  • Waste Management: Segregate and dispose of waste according to hotel and local regulations; manage recycling and grease disposal procedures.
  • Health and Safety Compliance: Follow HACCP, food safety, and chemical-handling procedures; use personal protective equipment and adhere to sanitation schedules.
  • Service Support: Assist service staff during peak periods with tray setup, clearing, bussing tables, and replenishing service stations.
  • Stock Handling: Receive and store deliveries, rotate stock using FIFO, and report shortages or damaged goods to supervisors.
  • Team Communication: Coordinate with kitchen, stewarding supervisor, and service teams to prioritize tasks and maintain smooth operations.

Requirements

  • Experience: Previous stewarding, kitchen porter, or similar experience preferred but not mandatory; on-the-job training can be provided.
  • Skills: Basic understanding of kitchen hygiene and sanitation; ability to follow instructions and work efficiently in a team.
  • Physical: Able to stand for long periods, lift moderate loads, work in hot and humid kitchen environments, and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Personal Attributes: Punctual, reliable, detail-oriented, and respectful; strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
  • Availability: Flexible to work shifts, early mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required.
  • Legal: Right to work in the UAE and any required local certifications or permits.
