M by Mirai Bahrain is seeking a skilled and motivated Chef de Partie (CDP) to run a kitchen station and help deliver consistently excellent dishes in our contemporary Japanese dining concept. This role suits a technically capable cook who values precision, timing, and presentation, and who thrives in a collaborative, high‑tempo kitchen. You will work closely with the Head Chef and sous team to execute menu items to exacting standards, mentor junior cooks, and contribute to menu development and daily specials. Duties and Responsibilities

  • Station Management — Run a designated station (sushi, hot kitchen, or cold prep) during service, ensuring consistent quality, portion control, and timing.
  • Food Preparation — Prepare mise en place, sauces, garnishes, and components to the Head Chef’s specifications.
  • Plating and Presentation — Execute plating standards and finish dishes to the restaurant’s visual and taste specifications.
  • Training and Supervision — Coach and supervise commis cooks and kitchen porters; delegate tasks and monitor performance.
  • Quality Control — Monitor food quality, taste, and temperature; reject substandard produce and report issues.
  • Hygiene and Safety — Maintain a clean, organized station; follow HACCP and food safety procedures at all times.
  • Inventory and Stock — Assist with stock rotation, portion control, and daily inventory checks; report shortages and waste.
  • Collaboration — Work with the culinary team on specials, menu changes, and service flow; communicate timing and ticket priorities clearly.

Requirements

  • Experience — Minimum 2–4 years experience in a similar role; prior experience with Japanese cuisine or sushi is a strong advantage.
  • Technical Skills — Excellent knife skills, solid understanding of cooking techniques, and ability to execute recipes consistently.
  • Food Safety — Food hygiene certification preferred; strong knowledge of safe food handling and storage.
  • Work Ethic — Able to perform under pressure, maintain composure during busy services, and work long standing shifts.
  • Team Player — Strong communication, willingness to learn, and a collaborative attitude.
  • Attention to Detail — High standards for taste, timing, and presentation.
  • Availability — Flexible to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
  • Legal — Right to work in Bahrain and any required local certifications.
