Saddle House Sharjah is hiring a skilled, reliable Barista to join our beverage team and deliver consistently excellent coffee and beverage experiences. This role suits a hands-on coffee professional who thrives in a fast-paced café environment, takes pride in consistency, and enjoys interacting with guests. As a Barista you will prepare espresso-based drinks and brewed coffee to recipe standards, maintain station cleanliness, assist with inventory and stock rotation, and support the Head and Senior Barista during peak service. You’ll be expected to work efficiently under pressure, communicate clearly with colleagues, and contribute to a warm, welcoming guest experience. Duties and Responsibilities

  • Beverage Preparation
    • Prepare espresso-based drinks and brewed coffee according to established recipes and presentation standards.
    • Pull consistent espresso shots, steam and texture milk, and execute basic latte art where required.
  • Station Maintenance
    • Keep the coffee station, equipment, and service area clean and organized throughout the shift.
    • Perform routine cleaning tasks including backflushing machines, wiping grinders, and sanitizing surfaces.
  • Quality Control
    • Monitor shot quality, extraction times, and beverage temperatures; report inconsistencies to senior staff.
    • Taste and check beverages periodically to ensure consistent flavor and presentation.
  • Inventory and Stock Rotation
    • Assist with stock rotation, portion control, and basic inventory counts for coffee, milk, and consumables.
    • Notify the Head Barista of low stock or equipment issues promptly.
  • Guest Service
    • Engage guests with friendly, informed service; recommend beverages and pairings when appropriate.
    • Handle guest feedback professionally and escalate issues to senior staff when necessary.
  • Team Support
    • Support colleagues during peak periods and assist with side work as required.
    • Participate in briefings and follow instructions from Head and Senior Barista.

Requirements

  • Experience
    • 6 months to 2 years barista experience preferred in cafés, specialty coffee shops, or restaurants.
  • Technical Skills
    • Basic knowledge of espresso extraction, milk steaming, and drink assembly.
    • Familiarity with common coffee equipment and willingness to learn maintenance routines.
  • Soft Skills
    • Strong customer service, clear communication, and a positive, team-oriented attitude.
    • Ability to work calmly under pressure, maintain attention to detail, and follow recipes precisely.
  • Operational Skills
    • Basic inventory awareness and adherence to hygiene and safety standards.
    • Comfortable using POS systems and following cash-handling procedures when required.
  • Eligibility and Availability
    • Local resident eligible to work in the UAE.
    • Flexible availability including weekends and public holidays.
