Open positions: Physics Teacher, Social Studies A, Social Studies B, Business Teacher, and Science Teacher. Duties and Responsibilities — Common Expectations
- Plan and deliver well-structured, age-appropriate lessons aligned to the school curriculum and learning outcomes.
- Assess and record student progress using formative and summative assessments; maintain accurate records and report cards.
- Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learner needs and support inclusion.
- Create a positive classroom environment that promotes critical thinking, respect, and student wellbeing.
- Manage behaviour according to school policy and maintain high standards of classroom conduct.
- Communicate professionally with parents and guardians about student progress and concerns.
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum design, cross-curricular projects, and professional development.
- Follow school policies on safeguarding, attendance, assessment, and health & safety.
- Participate in school events, meetings, and professional learning as required.
Physics Teacher — Duties and Responsibilities
- Deliver physics lessons across assigned grade levels focusing on conceptual understanding and problem solving.
- Design and supervise practical laboratory work safely, ensuring correct lab procedures, risk assessments, and accurate recording of results.
- Develop investigations, demonstrations, and inquiry-based activities that build scientific reasoning.
- Prepare students for external examinations and internal assessments through targeted revision and practice.
- Integrate technology and simulations to enhance conceptual clarity and engagement.
- Support students in STEM projects and extra-curricular science activities and guide those aiming for higher education in science/engineering.
Social Studies A / Social Studies B — Duties and Responsibilities
- Plan and teach social studies units appropriate to the assigned year groups, integrating history, geography, civics, and cultural studies as per curriculum.
- Develop inquiry-led tasks and source-based activities that develop analytical thinking and historical/geographical skills.
- Promote global citizenship and cultural awareness, linking local and regional contexts to global issues.
- Design assessment tasks that measure knowledge, skills, and critical thinking; provide timely feedback.
- Facilitate debates, presentations, and project-based learning to build communication and research skills.
- Coordinate cross-curricular projects with language, science, and humanities colleagues to deepen learning.
Business Teacher — Duties and Responsibilities
- Teach business studies topics (entrepreneurship, marketing, finance, management, economics basics) across assigned year groups.
- Use case studies and real-world projects to develop practical business understanding and problem-solving skills.
- Design assessments and business simulations that evaluate analytical, financial, and presentation skills.
- Guide students on careers and further study pathways in business and entrepreneurship.
- Supervise enterprise projects and competitions, mentor student teams, and support work-related learning opportunities.
- Integrate digital tools and spreadsheets for practical finance and data analysis lessons.
Science Teacher — Duties and Responsibilities
- Deliver science lessons (biology, chemistry, and physics concepts as assigned) that build inquiry skills and scientific literacy.
- Plan and run safe, curriculum-aligned practical activities and demonstrations, ensuring correct procedures and risk management.
- Differentiate lessons for mixed-ability groups and incorporate investigative work to develop experimental skills.
- Prepare students for internal and external assessments with targeted support and revision.
- Promote STEM engagement through clubs, competitions, and projects.
- Maintain laboratory resources and order consumables in coordination with the science department.
