Marina Byblos Hotel is seeking a talented and passionate Mediterranean Cuisine Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. As the Mediterranean Cuisine Chef, you will be responsible for creating, preparing, and presenting high-quality Mediterranean dishes that will delight our guests. You will oversee the kitchen operations in our Mediterranean and Lebanese-themed restaurant, ensuring the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and hygiene.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to showcase your culinary expertise in Mediterranean cuisine, using the finest ingredients and traditional cooking methods. Your creativity and passion for food will be essential in creating a memorable dining experience for our guests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Menu Creation and Development:
    Design and develop innovative Mediterranean menus that reflect both traditional flavors and modern culinary trends. Ensure that the menu items are well-balanced, appealing, and meet customer expectations.
  • Food Preparation and Presentation:
    Prepare and cook Mediterranean dishes to the highest standard of quality and presentation. Ensure consistency in taste, flavor, and plating for every dish served.
  • Kitchen Management:
    Manage and supervise kitchen staff, ensuring the team works efficiently and maintains a clean and organized kitchen. Delegate tasks, train junior staff, and oversee the daily operation of the kitchen.
  • Inventory and Stock Control:
    Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and ensure the kitchen has adequate stock of ingredients and equipment. Ensure proper storage and management of food items to minimize waste.
  • Food Hygiene and Safety:
    Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen according to local health and safety regulations. Ensure all food preparation areas and equipment are sanitized and comply with food safety standards.
  • Guest Interaction:
    Occasionally interact with guests to receive feedback and ensure they have a positive dining experience. Use guest feedback to refine dishes and improve menu offerings.

Job Requirements:

  • Experience:
    Minimum of 3-5 years of experience working in a professional kitchen, with at least 2 years in Mediterranean or Lebanese cuisine. Experience in a fine dining environment is preferred.
  • Culinary Education:
    Formal culinary training from a reputable institution or equivalent experience.
  • Skills:
    • Strong knowledge of Mediterranean cooking techniques, spices, and ingredients.
    • Creativity in developing new dishes and presentation styles.
    • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
    • Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
    • Strong leadership and team management skills.
    • Knowledge of food hygiene and safety regulations.
  • Personal Qualities:
    • A passion for Mediterranean cuisine and cooking.
    • Attention to detail and commitment to excellence.
    • Ability to maintain composure and professionalism in a high-pressure environment.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
