Engineering Coordinator

Creekside Hotel Dubai is looking for a proactive Engineering Coordinator to join our engineering team and ensure the smooth operation of hotel facilities. This role suits an organized professional who can coordinate maintenance activities, manage vendor relationships, and support preventive maintenance programs while responding effectively to guest and operational needs. You will act as the central point between engineering staff, operations, and management to prioritize tasks, maintain records, and uphold safety and quality standards across the property.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintenance Coordination: Plan, schedule, and monitor preventive and corrective maintenance across mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and building systems.
• Work Order Management: Receive, prioritize, and assign work orders; ensure timely completion and accurate documentation in the maintenance system.
• Vendor & Contractor Liaison: Source, coordinate, and supervise external contractors and service providers; obtain quotes and monitor service-level compliance.
• Inventory & Spare Parts: Maintain inventory of critical spares and tools; track usage and initiate procurement to avoid downtime.
• Compliance & Safety: Ensure engineering activities comply with local regulations, safety standards, and hotel policies; assist with audits and inspections.
• Reporting & Documentation: Prepare daily/weekly maintenance reports, log equipment histories, and update preventive maintenance schedules.
• Emergency Response: Support on-call rotations and coordinate rapid response to urgent technical issues or guest-impacting incidents.
• Team Support: Assist the Chief Engineer in training, supervising, and evaluating engineering technicians and contractors.

Requirements

• Education: Diploma or degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Facilities Management, or related engineering field preferred.
• Experience: Minimum 2 years in hotel engineering, facilities coordination, or building maintenance; hospitality experience is an advantage.
• Technical Knowledge: Solid understanding of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building systems; familiarity with CMMS or maintenance tracking software preferred.
• Skills: Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills; ability to prioritize tasks under pressure.
• Attributes: Detail-oriented, proactive, reliable, and able to work flexible hours including nights and weekends when required.
• Certifications: Relevant safety or technical certifications (e.g., electrical safety, HVAC) are a plus.
• Language & IT: Good command of English; proficiency with MS Office and maintenance management tools.
