Key Responsibilities
- Support: Assist the Head Chef in planning and executing daily service and specials
- Supervision: Oversee commis and junior kitchen staff during service and prep
- Preparation: Prepare ingredients, cook dishes to recipe and plating standards
- Quality Control: Ensure consistency, portion control, and presentation quality
- Hygiene and Safety: Maintain kitchen cleanliness and enforce food safety standards
- Stock Management: Receive deliveries, monitor inventory, and report shortages
Requirements
- Experience: Previous kitchen experience in a restaurant or café, with some supervisory exposure preferred
- Skills: Strong knowledge of food preparation, hygiene, and safety standards
- Work Style: Able to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment; reliable and organized
- Teamwork: Positive attitude and ability to lead by example
- Availability: Flexible to work mornings, evenings, and weekends as required
