Security Manager – Kenya : Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and proactive Security Manager to oversee the safety, security, and risk‑management operations of our hotel in Kenya. This role is ideal for a disciplined, detail‑oriented professional who understands the complexities of hospitality security and can create a safe environment for guests, employees, and assets.

As the Security Manager, you will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive security strategies, emergency response plans, and preventive measures that align with both local regulations and international hospitality standards. You will lead a team of security personnel, ensuring they are well‑trained, motivated, and equipped to handle daily operations as well as unexpected situations.

This position requires a leader who can balance firmness with diplomacy, maintain strong relationships with local authorities, and respond swiftly and professionally to incidents. You will conduct regular risk assessments, oversee access control, monitor surveillance systems, and ensure compliance with safety protocols across the property. Your ability to anticipate threats, manage crises, and maintain a visible security presence will play a crucial role in protecting the hotel’s reputation and ensuring guest confidence.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Oversee all security operations, ensuring a safe environment for guests and staff
  • Develop and implement security policies, procedures, and emergency response plans
  • Lead, train, schedule, and supervise security personnel
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and security audits
  • Monitor CCTV, access control systems, and patrol activities
  • Manage incident reporting, investigations, and follow‑up actions
  • Coordinate with local law enforcement, emergency services, and regulatory bodies
  • Ensure compliance with safety, fire, and security regulations
  • Support crisis management and business continuity planning
  • Protect hotel assets, including property, equipment, and confidential information

Requirements

  • Minimum 5–7 years of security leadership experience, preferably in hospitality or corporate environments
  • Strong knowledge of security protocols, emergency response, and risk management
  • Experience managing and training security teams
  • Familiarity with CCTV, access control, and surveillance systems
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and decision‑making skills
  • Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure
  • Understanding of Kenyan security regulations is an advantage
  • Background in law enforcement, military, or private security is preferred
