In this role you will be the face of Kapitol: greeting guests, managing reservations, coordinating seating, and ensuring every visitor receives a polished, memorable welcome. The pre‑opening phase requires flexibility, initiative, and a collaborative spirit — you will help establish procedures, train junior staff, and contribute to the guest experience blueprint that will guide daily operations. We are looking for someone who combines hospitality warmth with operational discipline, who can remain composed during busy service periods, and who takes pride in delivering consistent, high‑quality service.
Role Overview
As Hostess you will manage the guest arrival experience, maintain reservation systems, and coordinate with the wider front‑of‑house team to ensure smooth service flow. You will support pre‑opening activities including setting up the host station, preparing guest lists for soft openings, and assisting with VIP and private events. This position demands excellent communication, a professional appearance, and a genuine passion for hospitality.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Welcome guests with a friendly, professional demeanor and maintain a polished presence at all times.
- Manage reservations and seating using the venue’s reservation system; maintain accurate waitlists and optimize table allocation.
- Coordinate front‑of‑house flow by communicating with servers, bar staff, and management to ensure timely seating and service.
- Provide information about menus, promotions, events, and venue layout; answer guest queries and offer recommendations.
- Handle guest requests and minor complaints promptly and courteously; escalate issues to management when necessary.
- Assist with pre‑opening tasks including setting up the host station, preparing guest lists for soft openings, and participating in training sessions.
- Support VIP and private events by managing guest arrivals, liaising with event coordinators, and ensuring discreet, efficient service.
- Maintain front‑of‑house standards including cleanliness of the reception area, presentation of menus, and readiness of reservation tools.
- Record guest feedback and contribute to continuous improvement of guest experience protocols.
- Train and mentor junior front‑of‑house staff on greeting standards, reservation handling, and guest communication during the pre‑opening phase.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a front‑of‑house, hostess, or guest relations role within hospitality, restaurants, or nightlife venues preferred.
- Excellent communication skills in English; additional languages are an advantage.
- Polished appearance and professional attitude with strong interpersonal skills.
- Comfortable with reservation systems and basic computer tasks; quick learner for new software.
- Calm under pressure and able to multitask during peak service periods.
- Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required for hospitality operations.
- Customer‑centric mindset with attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem solving.
- Pre‑opening or event experience is a plus but not mandatory; willingness to participate in training and trial shifts is essential.
- Valid work authorization for the UAE or clear visa status; include visa details in your application.
