SUSHISAMBA Dubai is seeking an experienced, charismatic Head Hostess to lead the front‑of‑house welcome experience at one of the city’s most dynamic lifestyle restaurants. This role sits at the intersection of hospitality, presentation and operational control: you will be the first and last impression for our guests, responsible for orchestrating smooth seating flows, managing reservations and waitlists, and ensuring every arrival feels anticipated and celebrated. The ideal candidate combines polished professionalism with warm energy, excels at multitasking during peak service, and thrives in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment. You will work closely with management, reservations and service teams to uphold our signature standards, mentor junior hosts, and contribute to a culture that prizes guest recovery, attention to detail and consistent service excellence.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Guest Reception and Flow Management: Greet guests with warmth and professionalism; manage seating plans, waitlists and table rotations to optimize covers and guest satisfaction.
- Team Leadership: Supervise, schedule and mentor the host team; lead briefings and ensure consistent presentation and service standards.
- Reservations Coordination: Liaise with the reservations agent and FOH managers to confirm bookings, manage VIPs and accommodate special requests.
- Communication and Liaison: Act as the central point of contact between FOH, kitchen and management during service; communicate delays, special requirements and guest feedback.
- Guest Recovery and Standards: Handle guest concerns with composure and discretion; implement recovery actions and escalate when necessary.
- Operational Oversight: Maintain front‑of‑house appearance, manage station supplies, and ensure compliance with health, safety and hygiene standards.
- Reporting: Provide daily feedback on covers, no‑shows and guest trends; assist management with shift handovers and briefings.
Requirements
- Experience: Minimum 3–5 years in front‑of‑house roles with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory or lead capacity, preferably in upscale or high‑volume restaurants.
- Skills: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills; strong organizational ability and calm under pressure.
- Technical: Familiarity with reservation systems (e.g., Resy, OpenTable, or similar) and basic POS knowledge.
- Presentation: Professional appearance and polished manner; excellent phone etiquette.
- Languages: Fluent English required; additional languages an advantage.
- Availability: Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and public holidays.
- Attributes: Leadership mindset, attention to detail, proactive problem solver, and a genuine passion for hospitality and guest experience.
