GAIA Restaurants in Mayfair is seeking an experienced Assistant Restaurant Manager to join a high‑energy Mediterranean dining destination where precision meets personality. Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily front‑of‑house operations to ensure smooth service flow and exceptional guest experiences.
  • Lead and coach the service team through briefings, on‑shift mentoring, and performance feedback.
  • Manage reservations, seating, and covers to optimise guest satisfaction and revenue.
  • Deliver outstanding guest recovery by resolving complaints promptly and professionally.
  • Maintain standards for service, presentation, and cleanliness across all public areas.
  • Support training and onboarding for new hires and seasonal staff.
  • Assist with rostering and labour management to balance service needs and cost control.
  • Collaborate with kitchen leadership on timing, menu rollouts, and special events.
  • Monitor front‑of‑house stock and supplies and support inventory and cost control processes.
  • Represent GAIA’s brand in every guest interaction, promoting local partnerships and the restaurant’s Mediterranean identity.

Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum 3–5 years in upscale, fast‑paced restaurants with supervisory experience.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead with confidence and humility; strong coaching and communication skills.
  • Service expertise: Deep understanding of fine dining service standards, table management, and guest relations.
  • Operational skills: Familiarity with reservations systems, POS, rostering, inventory control, and basic P&L awareness.
  • Personal qualities: Detail‑oriented, resilient under pressure, proactive, and guest‑centric.
  • Availability: Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
  • Language: Professional English; additional languages are an advantage.
  • Right to work: Legal eligibility to work in the UK.
