La Brioche Café et Pâtisserie is hiring Stewards for its Dubai opening and other UAE branches (Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Al Ain). This essential back‑of‑house role keeps kitchen operations safe, clean, and efficient by managing dishwashing, equipment care, waste handling, and basic receiving support. Ideal candidates are reliable, physically fit, and familiar with industrial cleaning equipment and hygiene standards. The role offers steady shifts, on‑the‑job training, and opportunities to progress into broader operations or steward supervisory roles.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Dishwashing and Sanitisation
    • Operate commercial dishwashers and manual sinks; wash, sanitise, and store pots, pans, utensils, crockery, and glassware to company standards.
    • Ensure all serviceware is ready for each shift and maintain a continuous supply during peak service.
  • Kitchen Housekeeping
    • Clean floors, drains, walls, work surfaces, and equipment according to daily and deep‑clean schedules.
    • Follow cleaning checklists and complete cleaning logs accurately.
  • Equipment Care and Maintenance Support
    • Clean and inspect small equipment, trays, trolleys, and service stations; report faults and coordinate basic preventive maintenance.
    • Assist engineering or external technicians with access and basic checks when required.
  • Receiving and Stock Handling Assistance
    • Help unload deliveries, check packaging, and move stock to storerooms or cold rooms under Store Keeper direction.
    • Label and stack items safely following FIFO and storage guidelines.
  • Waste Management and Hygiene Compliance
    • Sort and dispose of waste according to company and local regulations; manage recycling and grease trap routines.
    • Adhere to HACCP, personal hygiene, and chemical handling procedures; use PPE and safe lifting techniques.
  • Operational Support
    • Support chefs and commis during busy periods by supplying clean equipment and assisting with simple prep tasks when asked.
    • Attend briefings, follow supervisor instructions, and hand over tasks clearly at shift end.

Requirements

  • Experience
    • 6 months to 2 years stewarding, kitchen porter, or similar hospitality experience preferred but motivated beginners will be considered.
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Familiarity with industrial dishwashers, cleaning chemicals, and basic kitchen equipment is an advantage.
    • Able to follow checklists, work methodically, and maintain high standards of cleanliness.
  • Physical and Personal Attributes
    • Physically fit and able to stand for long periods, lift moderate weights safely, and work in hot, fast environments.
    • Reliable, punctual, detail‑oriented, and a cooperative team player with a positive attitude.
  • Health and Safety
    • Basic awareness of food safety and hygiene practices; HACCP or food hygiene certification is a plus.
    • Willingness to follow safe chemical handling and PPE procedures.
  • Availability and Eligibility
    • Flexible to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
    • Eligible to work in the UAE.
