Executive Housekeeper – Kenya: Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and service‑driven Executive Housekeeper to lead our housekeeping operations in Kenya. This role is ideal for a hospitality professional who combines operational excellence with strong leadership, attention to detail, and a passion for creating exceptional guest experiences.

As the Executive Housekeeper, you will oversee all housekeeping and laundry operations, ensuring that guest rooms, public areas, and back‑of‑house spaces consistently meet the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation, and hygiene. You will manage a large, multicultural team, implement efficient systems, and uphold brand standards that reflect the quality and reputation of MGM Muthu Hotels.

This position requires a proactive leader who thrives in fast‑paced environments, understands the importance of guest satisfaction, and can balance hands‑on supervision with strategic planning. You will be responsible for budgeting, inventory control, staff training, quality audits, and ensuring compliance with safety and sanitation regulations. Your ability to motivate teams, streamline processes, and maintain impeccable standards will directly influence the guest experience and overall hotel performance.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all housekeeping and laundry operations
  • Ensure guest rooms, public areas, and facilities meet brand cleanliness standards
  • Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise housekeeping staff
  • Conduct regular inspections and quality audits
  • Manage inventory, linen control, and cost‑efficient purchasing
  • Oversee deep cleaning programs and preventive maintenance coordination
  • Maintain compliance with hygiene, safety, and sanitation regulations
  • Collaborate with Front Office, Engineering, and F&B for seamless operations
  • Handle guest feedback and resolve service issues promptly
  • Prepare departmental budgets, forecasts, and performance reports

Requirements

  • Minimum 5–7 years of housekeeping leadership experience in a 4–5 star hotel
  • Proven experience as Executive Housekeeper or Assistant Executive Housekeeper
  • Strong leadership, communication, and team‑building skills
  • Excellent knowledge of cleaning standards, chemicals, and equipment
  • Strong organizational and time‑management abilities
  • Experience managing large teams and high‑volume operations
  • Knowledge of housekeeping systems and inventory management
  • Ability to work under pressure and maintain high standards
  • Familiarity with Kenyan hospitality operations is an advantage
