Duties and Responsibilities

Sous Chef

  • Support the Head Chef in running daily kitchen operations and supervising the kitchen team
  • Ensure all dishes are prepared to recipe, presentation and quality standards
  • Manage stock levels, ordering, receiving and storage to control food cost and minimize waste
  • Train, schedule and motivate Chefs de Partie and Commis
  • Enforce food safety, hygiene and HACCP standards at all times

Chef de Partie

  • Run your assigned section and prepare dishes consistently to the standard set
  • Prepare mise en place before service and keep the station clean and organized
  • Follow recipes, portion sizes and plating guidelines
  • Guide and support Commis chefs working in your section
  • Maintain food safety, hygiene and proper food storage practices

Commis

  • Assist Chefs de Partie with food preparation and basic cooking tasks
  • Wash, chop, portion and prepare ingredients for service
  • Keep your work area clean, tidy and sanitized
  • Receive, label and store deliveries correctly
  • Follow instructions, recipes and all hygiene standards

Dish Washer

  • Wash, sanitize and store dishes, glassware, cutlery and kitchen equipment
  • Keep the dishwashing area, kitchen floors and back-of-house spaces clean
  • Handle waste disposal and recycling according to procedures
  • Use cleaning chemicals and machines safely
  • Help kitchen staff with basic cleaning and organizing tasks

Head Barista

  • Lead the coffee bar team and keep drinks consistent and high quality
  • Prepare specialty coffee and beverages to the venue’s recipes and standards
  • Train baristas in brewing methods, latte art and customer service
  • Maintain, clean and calibrate espresso machines and grinders
  • Manage coffee, milk and bar supplies, and keep stock levels in order

Barista

  • Prepare espresso-based drinks, brewed coffee and other beverages
  • Greet guests warmly and recommend drinks and pastries
  • Keep the coffee bar clean, stocked and ready for service
  • Operate and clean coffee machines and grinders daily
  • Follow hygiene, safety and cash or POS procedures

Waiter

  • Welcome guests, present menus and take orders accurately
  • Serve food and beverages promptly and professionally
  • Share knowledge of the menu, ingredients and daily specials
  • Handle guest requests and resolve concerns with a positive attitude
  • Set up and clear tables and keep the dining area clean

Requirements

Sous Chef

  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef or senior Chef de Partie in a restaurant or café
  • Strong knowledge of kitchen operations, food cost control and HACCP
  • Leadership, communication and team-training skills
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays
  • Culinary diploma or equivalent experience preferred

Chef de Partie

  • Previous experience as a Chef de Partie or Demi Chef de Partie
  • Solid cooking skills and good knowledge of your section
  • Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen
  • Team player with a positive attitude

Commis

  • Basic kitchen experience preferred; motivated beginners are welcome to apply
  • Willingness to learn and take direction
  • Knowledge of basic hygiene and food handling
  • Ability to stand for long periods and work in a team
  • Flexibility with shifts

Dish Washer

  • Previous stewarding or dishwashing experience is an advantage
  • Awareness of cleanliness and sanitation standards
  • Physically fit and able to work on your feet for long periods
  • Reliable, hardworking and punctual
  • Willingness to work flexible shifts

Head Barista

  • Proven experience as a Head Barista or senior Barista in a specialty coffee setting
  • Strong knowledge of espresso, brewing methods, milk texturing and latte art
  • Team leadership and training experience
  • Good understanding of stock control and equipment maintenance
  • Excellent customer service skills

Barista

  • Previous barista experience preferred; training can be provided for the right candidate
  • Knowledge of espresso-based drinks and latte art is a plus
  • Friendly, customer-focused personality
  • Ability to work quickly and accurately in a busy environment
  • Good communication skills in English; Arabic is an advantage

Waiter

  • Previous experience as a waiter or server in a restaurant or café preferred
  • Good communication skills in English; additional languages are an advantage
  • Polite, presentable and guest-focused attitude
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends
  • Team player who can handle a busy service

Al Yalsa by Limited is a new café and restaurant concept in Nad Al Sheba, Dubai, operated within the AP&Co. Hospitality family. It is built around specialty coffee, freshly baked pastries, breakfast and all-day dishes, served in a relaxed and vibrant setting within the Nad Al Sheba community. The name, Arabic for a gathering or sitting together, reflects the aim of creating a welcoming place for neighbors, friends and families to meet.
