More Information

Majestic Hotel Group is looking for a dependable, hardworking Steward to join our culinary support team. This role is essential to the smooth operation of our kitchens and outlets: you will ensure all dishware, cookware, and back‑of‑house areas are cleaned, sanitized, and organized to the highest standards. The Steward supports chefs and service teams by maintaining a steady flow of clean equipment, assisting with basic food preparation tasks when required, and following strict hygiene and safety procedures. This is an entry‑to‑mid level, hands‑on position ideal for candidates who take pride in reliability, teamwork, and attention to detail. We offer on‑the‑job training, clear progression pathways into stewarding leadership or kitchen roles, and a collaborative workplace culture that values respect and continuous improvement.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Dishwashing and Cleaning — Operate dishwashing machines and manual sinks to clean plates, glassware, cutlery, pots, and pans to brand standards.
  • Back‑of‑House Maintenance — Clean and sanitize kitchen workstations, floors, drains, and equipment; ensure all areas are tidy and free of hazards.
  • Equipment Care — Inspect, sort, and store cleaned items correctly; report damaged or missing items to the stewarding supervisor.
  • Support to Kitchen Team — Assist chefs with basic prep tasks (peeling, washing, portioning) when requested and within food safety guidelines.
  • Waste and Recycling — Segregate and dispose of waste according to hotel procedures; support recycling and sustainability initiatives.
  • Stock Handling — Receive and store stewarding supplies and detergents; assist with stock rotation and basic inventory checks.
  • Hygiene and Safety Compliance — Follow HACCP and local food safety rules; use cleaning chemicals safely and wear required PPE.
  • Event and Service Support — Help set up and clear service stations during busy periods, banquets, and special events.
  • Shift Handover — Complete shift logs, report issues, and hand over duties clearly to the incoming steward.
  • Teamwork — Work cooperatively with chefs, servers, and supervisors to maintain service flow and guest standards.

Requirements

  • Experience — Previous stewarding, kitchen porter, or similar hospitality experience preferred but not essential; training will be provided.
  • Education — Basic education; food safety or hygiene certification is an advantage.
  • Skills — Reliable, punctual, and physically fit; able to lift and carry heavy items safely and stand for long periods.
  • Knowledge — Basic understanding of food hygiene and safe chemical handling; willingness to learn HACCP principles.
  • Personal Attributes — Strong work ethic, attention to detail, ability to follow instructions, and a team‑first attitude.
  • Technical — Comfortable with manual tasks and simple equipment operation; quick learner.
  • Language — Basic English for communication on shift; additional languages are beneficial.
  • Availability — Flexible to work shifts including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
  • Work Authorization — Legal right to work in the UAE or the country where the role is based.
