La Brioche Café et Pâtisserie is hiring a Head Waiter / Head Waitress for its Dubai opening. This senior FOH role leads the service team, ensures exceptional guest experiences, and maintains high standards of hospitality during every shift. You will mentor waitstaff, manage section performance, coordinate closely with kitchen and bar teams, and act as the manager on duty when required. The ideal candidate combines polished service skills, strong leadership, and a calm, guest‑first approach in a fast‑paced café and patisserie environment.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Shift Leadership
    • Lead a service section and supervise waitstaff during shifts; manage seating, table turns, and service flow.
    • Ensure smooth handovers and maintain consistent standards across all covers.
  • Team Coaching and Development
    • Train and mentor waiters and junior staff on service techniques, menu knowledge, and upselling.
    • Run pre‑shift briefings, on‑shift coaching moments, and performance feedback.
  • Guest Experience and Recovery
    • Greet guests, present menus, recommend items, and manage special requests.
    • Resolve guest complaints professionally and escalate to management when necessary.
  • Service Quality and Standards
    • Monitor order accuracy, timing, and presentation; ensure adherence to service checklists and SOPs.
    • Maintain station cleanliness, side work completion, and correct mise en place.
  • Operational Support
    • Coordinate with kitchen and bar to manage timing and special orders; assist with reservations and walk‑ins.
    • Support cash handling, POS checks, and end‑of‑shift reconciliations when required.
  • Health Safety and Compliance
    • Enforce hygiene and food safety standards in FOH areas; follow allergen and cross‑contamination procedures.
    • Report hazards, equipment faults, or incidents promptly.

Requirements

  • Experience
    • Minimum 1–3 years in a senior waiter, captain, or supervisory FOH role; café, patisserie, or casual dining experience preferred.
  • Skills and Competencies
    • Excellent guest service, polished table service skills, and confident upselling ability.
    • Strong communication, coaching, and conflict‑resolution skills.
    • Familiarity with POS systems, reservations, and basic cash handling.
  • Personal Attributes
    • Professional presentation, punctuality, and a positive, can‑do attitude.
    • Calm under pressure, detail‑oriented, and a natural leader who lifts team performance.
  • Eligibility and Availability
    • Eligible to work in the UAE; flexible availability including weekends and public holidays.
    • Fluent English; additional languages are an advantage.
