Head Chef (Banquet) – Montgomerie

Montgomerie is expanding its culinary leadership team and is seeking an accomplished Head Chef – Banquet to lead high‑volume, high‑quality banquet operations. This role is ideal for a seasoned culinary professional with a passion for excellence, innovation, and seamless event execution.


Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead all banquet kitchen operations, ensuring exceptional food quality, presentation, and consistency.
  • Develop creative, event‑specific menus aligned with brand standards and client expectations.
  • Oversee food production for weddings, corporate events, social gatherings, and large‑scale functions.
  • Manage and mentor the banquet culinary team, fostering a culture of discipline, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure strict adherence to food safety, hygiene, and HACCP standards.
  • Collaborate closely with Events, F&B, and Service teams to ensure smooth coordination and timely service.
  • Monitor food costs, inventory, and waste control to achieve budgetary targets.
  • Maintain equipment, kitchen organization, and operational readiness at all times.
  • Drive innovation through seasonal menu updates, tasting sessions, and culinary enhancements.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5–7 years of experience in banquet or large‑scale culinary operations, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong background in menu engineering, production planning, and high‑volume execution.
  • Proven ability to lead, train, and inspire diverse culinary teams.
  • Excellent knowledge of international cuisines, modern culinary techniques, and banquet service standards.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and time‑management skills.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure and deliver consistently during peak event periods.
  • Certification in Culinary Arts; additional HACCP or food safety qualifications are an advantage.
