Commis (Pastry) – The Tower Plaza Hotel Dubai

The Tower Plaza Hotel Dubai is seeking an enthusiastic and hardworking Commis (Pastry) to join our pastry team. The ideal candidate will assist in preparing high‑quality desserts, pastries, and baked items while learning and growing under the guidance of senior chefs.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation and production of pastries, desserts, and bakery items.
  • Follow recipes, portion guidelines, and presentation standards set by the Pastry Chef.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pastry section in accordance with HACCP and food safety standards.
  • Support the team in daily mise‑en‑place and service operations.
  • Properly store, label, and rotate ingredients and finished products.
  • Assist in inventory checks and report any shortages or quality concerns.
  • Ensure all equipment and tools are cleaned and maintained properly.
  • Uphold the hotel’s grooming, hygiene, and professional conduct standards.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Pastry Commis or trainee in a hotel or bakery environment is an advantage.
  • Basic knowledge of pastry techniques, baking methods, and dessert preparation.
  • Willingness to learn, take direction, and grow within the culinary team.
  • Strong attention to detail and passion for pastry arts.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
  • Culinary or pastry certification is preferred but not mandatory.
