Beyond routine transactions, MADO expects its Cashiers to contribute to a positive dining atmosphere through friendly communication, timely problem-solving, and an understanding of our menu and promotions. This position offers hands-on experience in hospitality operations, opportunities for cross-training in front-of-house functions, and a clear path for career progression within MADO’s UAE outlets.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Process Transactions
    Accurately handle cash, credit/debit, mobile wallet, and other digital payments using the POS system; issue receipts and manage refunds or adjustments as required.
  • Guest Interaction
    Greet guests courteously, answer basic menu questions, promote current offers, and manage queues during peak times to maintain a smooth flow.
  • End-of-Shift Reconciliation
    Perform cash counts, prepare end-of-day financial reports, reconcile discrepancies, and securely store cash according to company procedures.
  • Order Accuracy
    Verify orders before finalizing transactions, coordinate with kitchen staff to confirm special requests, and ensure special promotions or discounts are applied correctly.
  • Cleanliness and Presentation
    Maintain a tidy cashier station and front counter, restock point-of-sale supplies, and ensure visible menus, promotional materials, and signage are current and well-presented.
  • Loss Prevention and Compliance
    Follow company cash-handling and security protocols, report suspicious activity, and comply with food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Support Team Operations
    Assist hosts, waitstaff, and supervisors during busy periods by taking orders, helping with table assignments, or supporting takeaway and delivery preparation.
  • Record Keeping
    Log daily transactions, delivery handovers, and any customer complaints or incidents, escalating to supervisors when necessary.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a cashier or front-of-house role in hospitality or retail preferred.
  • Proficient in POS systems and basic numeracy; comfortable handling cash and electronic payments.
  • Strong communication skills in English; additional languages are an advantage.
  • Friendly, professional demeanor with excellent customer service instincts.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts including weekends and public holidays.
  • Attention to detail, reliability, and a sense of responsibility when handling money and sensitive information.
  • Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
