Al Ittihad Private School invites creative, student‑centered Art Teachers to join our Al Mamzar campus for the 2026–2027 academic year. We seek an educator who inspires artistic exploration, develops technical skills across media, and fosters a classroom culture where creativity, critical thinking, and cultural appreciation thrive. The successful candidate will design age‑appropriate art programmes, guide students through skill development and portfolio work, and contribute to exhibitions and school events. You will collaborate with colleagues to integrate visual arts across the curriculum, support co‑curricular activities, and promote safe studio practices. Duties and responsibilities
- Curriculum design and instruction
Plan and deliver engaging, standards‑aligned art lessons that develop technical skills, creative processes, and art appreciation across grade levels. - Studio practice and safety
Create and maintain a safe, well‑organised studio environment; teach safe use and care of tools, materials, and equipment. - Skill development and assessment
Teach drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, digital art, and mixed media as appropriate; design formative and summative assessments and maintain student portfolios. - Creative thinking and cultural literacy
Integrate art history, cultural perspectives, and contemporary practices to broaden students’ visual literacy and critical thinking. - Exhibitions and events
Curate student exhibitions, coordinate displays around campus, and support school art events, competitions, and community projects. - Differentiation and inclusion
Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs and support students with varying abilities and interests. - Collaboration and professional growth
Work with colleagues to embed visual arts across subjects, participate in department planning, and engage in ongoing professional development. - Pastoral and supervisory duties
Support students’ social‑emotional development, supervise classes and school activities as required, and follow safeguarding procedures.
Requirements
- Qualification
Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, Art Education, or a closely related field; teaching certification or postgraduate qualification preferred. - Experience
Minimum 2 years teaching experience in primary or secondary art settings; experience in international schools or accredited programmes is an advantage. - Portfolio
A professional portfolio showcasing personal work and examples of student work or curriculum projects is required. - Skills
Strong command of multiple media (traditional and digital), effective classroom management, assessment literacy, and ability to scaffold skills development. - Attributes
Creative, patient, encouraging, culturally sensitive, and committed to fostering artistic confidence in students. - Technical and compliance
Comfortable integrating digital art tools and technology; valid UAE work authorization, clear background checks, and willingness to complete school onboarding and safeguarding training.
