Al Ghurair Mobility — Cars Services is expanding its workshop network across the UAE. We are seeking a hands‑on, technically strong Workshop Supervisor to lead daily workshop operations in Dubai or Abu Dhabi, ensure high standards of repair quality and safety, coach technicians, and drive productivity and customer satisfaction.

  • Team scope: Technicians, apprentices, service advisors, workshop attendants

Key responsibilities

  • Supervise day‑to‑day workshop activities to meet KPIs for throughput, turnaround time, first‑time fix rate, and quality.
  • Allocate jobs and balance technician workloads based on skillset, complexity, and priority.
  • Inspect completed work for quality and compliance with OEM repair standards before vehicle handover.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop technicians through on‑the‑job training, skills assessments, and performance feedback.
  • Enforce health, safety, and environmental procedures in the workshop; ensure PPE and safe work practices are followed.
  • Coordinate with Parts to confirm parts availability and expedite critical items to minimize vehicle downtime.
  • Monitor technician productivity, time capture, and job card accuracy; identify and implement process improvements to increase labor absorption.
  • Support complex diagnostics and troubleshooting; liaise with technical support or OEM field engineers when required.
  • Maintain workshop tools, equipment calibration, and facility standards; report maintenance or equipment needs promptly.
  • Assist Manager Aftersales with workforce planning, shift rostering, and recruitment needs.
  • Handle escalated technical or customer issues professionally and ensure timely resolution.
  • Prepare daily/weekly workshop reports and contribute to monthly operational reviews.

Requirements

Experience and qualifications

  • 3–6 years experience in automotive workshop operations or technical supervision; prior supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong technical knowledge of vehicle systems, diagnostics, and repair procedures across petrol/diesel and common vehicle platforms.
  • Experience with Dealer Management Systems (DMS) or workshop job‑card systems and basic MS Office reporting.
  • Vocational or technical qualification in Automotive Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent preferred.
  • Valid UAE work authorization; UAE driving license preferred.

Skills and competencies

  • Proven leadership and people‑development skills with a hands‑on, coaching approach.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Detail oriented with a strong focus on quality control and safety.
  • Good communicator in English; Arabic is an advantage.
  • Problem solver who remains calm under pressure and manages escalations effectively.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and peak service periods.
