Iconic Plaza Hotel is hiring friendly, attentive Waiters and Waitresses to join our Food & Beverage team. This role delivers exceptional dining experiences by providing prompt, courteous service, accurate order handling, and polished table presentation in our restaurant, bar, and event spaces.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Guest Service — Welcome guests, present menus, explain daily specials, and make recommendations.
  • Order Management — Take accurate food and beverage orders; enter orders into the POS; coordinate timing with kitchen and bar.
  • Service Execution — Serve food and drinks with correct presentation; clear and reset tables efficiently; ensure guest satisfaction throughout the meal.
  • Billing and Payments — Present bills, process payments, and handle cash/card transactions following hotel procedures.
  • Event Support — Assist with banquet and event setups, service, and breakdown as required.
  • Hygiene and Safety — Maintain cleanliness of service areas; follow food safety, hygiene, and alcohol service regulations.
  • Teamwork and Communication — Liaise with kitchen, bar, and supervisory staff to resolve issues and ensure smooth service.
  • Upselling and Standards — Promote specials and add‑ons professionally; uphold Iconic Plaza Hotel service standards and brand image.

Requirements

  • Education — Minimum KCSE or equivalent; hospitality training is an advantage.
  • Experience — Prior experience in restaurant or hotel service preferred; entry‑level candidates with strong customer service skills considered.
  • Skills — Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; basic numeracy; familiarity with POS systems is desirable.
  • Personal Attributes — Polite, attentive, calm under pressure, and detail oriented.
  • Physical — Able to stand and walk for long periods and carry trays safely.
  • Availability — Willingness to work shifts, evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
  • Language — Proficiency in English; additional languages are an asset.
  • Legal — Right to work in Kenya and ability to pass background checks.
