Steward Job Post — Kapitol Dubai by Sunset Hospitality

Kapitol Dubai is recruiting reliable, efficient, and detail‑oriented Stewards to join our pre‑opening kitchen team. As we prepare to launch Dubai’s newest social gaming and lifestyle destination, Stewards play a crucial role in maintaining kitchen hygiene, supporting culinary operations, and ensuring smooth service during soft openings and VIP previews. This pre‑opening position with Sunset Hospitality offers structured on‑the‑job training, practical experience in a high‑volume environment, and clear pathways for career progression within Kapitol and the wider Sunset Hospitality group.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain kitchen cleanliness by washing dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and glassware to Kapitol sanitation standards.
  • Operate dishwashing equipment safely and efficiently; ensure all items are sanitized and returned to service promptly.
  • Support kitchen operations by collecting and disposing of waste, clearing service stations, and assisting with basic prep tasks as directed.
  • Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and detergents; report shortages and request replenishments.
  • Ensure proper storage and handling of kitchen equipment and serviceware; assist with receiving and storing deliveries.
  • Assist with equipment maintenance by cleaning filters, drains, and work areas; report faults to supervisors.
  • Follow health and safety protocols including correct chemical dilution, PPE use, and safe lifting techniques.
  • Support service periods by ensuring rapid turnaround of serviceware and maintaining back‑of‑house order during peak times.
  • Assist with event setups and breakdowns to ensure timely readiness of kitchen and service stations.
  • Adhere to Kapitol’s presentation and hygiene standards at all times and contribute to a safe, efficient kitchen environment.

Requirements

  • Previous stewarding or kitchen support experience preferred but not mandatory; strong willingness to learn is essential.
  • Physically fit and able to stand for long periods, lift moderate weights, and work at a fast pace.
  • Basic understanding of sanitation and hygiene practices; certification is an advantage.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
  • Good teamwork and communication skills with the ability to follow instructions and support multiple stations.
  • Attention to detail and a proactive approach to maintaining cleanliness and order.
  • Basic English proficiency for coordination and reporting; additional languages are a plus.
  • Valid UAE work authorization or clear visa status; include visa details in your application.
