As Hostess at Nemo by Swot Hospitality, you are the first warm, professional face guests meet and the orchestrator of first impressions in a signature dining destination framed by a panoramic underwater aquarium. You will manage reservations, welcome and seat guests with poise, and coordinate the flow of service so that every table receives timely, attentive care. This role requires exceptional communication, calm under pressure, and a genuine hospitality instinct—balancing efficiency with a gracious, guest‑first attitude. You will work closely with the front‑of‑house team, the Restaurant Manager, and the kitchen to ensure smooth transitions between seating, service, and special requests, while representing Nemo’s refined standards and brand warmth.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Guest Reception — Greet guests warmly, manage the host stand, and escort guests to their tables with professionalism.
- Reservation Management — Handle phone and online reservations, maintain accurate seating plans, and manage waitlists during peak periods.
- Seating Coordination — Optimize table turns and seating flow to balance guest experience with covers and revenue goals.
- Communication — Relay guest preferences, allergies, and special requests to service and kitchen teams; coordinate timing for large parties and private dining.
- Guest Relations — Manage guest inquiries and minor complaints with tact; escalate issues to management when necessary.
- Standards and Presentation — Maintain a tidy, welcoming host area and ensure menus, signage, and waiting areas reflect Nemo’s standards.
- Administrative Tasks — Update reservation systems, prepare daily seating reports, and assist with light administrative duties as required.
Requirements
- Experience — 1–3 years in a hostess, front‑desk, or guest relations role in upscale dining or hospitality preferred.
- Skills — Excellent verbal communication, strong organizational ability, and a calm, friendly demeanor.
- Technical — Comfortable using reservation platforms and POS systems.
- Qualifications — Customer service training or hospitality certification is an advantage.
- Personal Attributes — Polished presentation, attention to detail, team player, and guest‑centric mindset.
- Availability — Flexible to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
- Language — Fluent English; additional languages are a plus.
