Saddle House Sharjah is seeking a warm, professional, and service-oriented Hostess to join our Front of House team. This role is ideal for a local candidate with proven hospitality experience who excels at first impressions, guest communication, and smooth seating operations. As the first point of contact for guests, the Hostess sets the tone for the entire dining experience—welcoming visitors, managing reservations and waitlists, coordinating with servers and kitchen staff, and ensuring efficient table flow during peak periods. We want someone who combines polished presentation with calm problem-solving, who can handle phone and in-person enquiries with courtesy, and who takes pride in maintaining an organized front desk area. Arabic language skills are required for this position to support our local guest base, and strong English is preferred. Duties and Responsibilities
- Guest Reception and Seating
- Greet guests warmly on arrival and escort them to their tables.
- Manage reservations, waitlists, and table allocations to optimize seating flow.
- Maintain an accurate reservation book or digital booking system.
- Communication and Coordination
- Answer incoming calls and respond to basic guest inquiries professionally.
- Coordinate with servers, baristas, and kitchen staff to manage table readiness and special requests.
- Notify service team of VIPs, allergies, or special occasions.
- Front Desk Management
- Keep the host station tidy and presentable at all times.
- Prepare and maintain menus, promotional materials, and reservation confirmations.
- Handle guest complaints or escalate to management when necessary.
- Guest Experience and Upselling
- Provide menu highlights and recommend specials when appropriate.
- Assist with guest requests such as seating preferences, high chairs, or accessibility needs.
- Ensure guests leave with a positive impression and invite them to return.
Requirements
- Language Skills
- Fluent Arabic is required; good English communication skills are preferred.
- Experience
- Minimum 1–3 years of Front of House or hostess experience in a restaurant, café, or hotel environment.
- Familiarity with reservation systems and POS basics is an advantage.
- Professional Attributes
- Polished appearance, excellent interpersonal skills, and a friendly, composed demeanor.
- Strong organizational skills, punctuality, and the ability to multitask during busy shifts.
- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to handle guest concerns calmly and professionally.
- Eligibility
- Local resident eligible to work in the UAE.
- Flexible availability to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays as required.
