Commis II – Western Hotel Ghayathi

Western Hotel Ghayathi is seeking a dedicated and hardworking Commis II to join our culinary team. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about cooking, eager to learn, and committed to supporting the kitchen’s daily operations. As a Commis II, you will assist in food preparation, maintain cleanliness and organization in your section, and ensure that all dishes are prepared according to the hotel’s quality standards.

You will work closely with senior chefs to prepare ingredients, support mise‑en‑place, and help deliver consistent, high‑quality dishes during service. Duties & Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing ingredients and basic cooking tasks
• Support the Commis I and Chef de Partie in daily kitchen operations
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations
• Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards at all times
• Ensure proper storage, labeling, and rotation of food items
• Assist in mise‑en‑place for service and special events
• Help minimize food wastage through proper portioning and handling
• Report any equipment issues to senior chefs
• Support the team during busy service periods

Requirements

• Previous experience as Commis II or in a similar kitchen role
• Basic knowledge of food preparation and kitchen operations
• Understanding of hygiene and safety standards (HACCP knowledge is a plus)
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast‑paced environment
• Positive attitude, teamwork spirit, and willingness to learn
• Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays
• Culinary training or certification is an advantage
