Commis I – Western Hotel Ghayathi

Western Hotel Ghayathi is seeking a skilled and motivated Commis I to join our culinary team. This role is ideal for a passionate cook who is committed to delivering high‑quality dishes, maintaining kitchen standards, and supporting the smooth operation of daily food preparation. As a Commis I, you will work closely with the Chef de Partie and Sous Chef to ensure consistency, creativity, and excellence across all menu items.

You will be responsible for preparing ingredients, cooking assigned dishes, maintaining hygiene standards, and ensuring that all food leaving the kitchen meets the hotel’s quality expectations. Duties & Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook, and present dishes according to hotel standards
• Assist in menu preparation and mise‑en‑place for daily operations
• Ensure all food items are stored, labeled, and rotated properly
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations
• Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation guidelines at all times
• Support senior chefs during service and busy periods
• Monitor portion control and minimize food wastage
• Report any maintenance or equipment issues to the Chef de Partie
• Assist in training junior staff when required

Requirements

• Previous experience as Commis I or similar role in a hotel or restaurant
• Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques
• Understanding of HACCP and kitchen safety standards
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure environment
• Positive attitude, teamwork spirit, and willingness to learn
• Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays
• Culinary certification is an advantage
