La Brioche Café et Pâtisserie is recruiting skilled Baristas for its Dubai opening and other UAE branches. This role is ideal for coffee‑focused professionals who combine technical espresso skills with warm guest service and a disciplined approach to consistency. As a Barista you will prepare espresso‑based and brewed beverages to recipe standards, maintain the coffee station, manage daily cleaning and basic equipment care, and engage guests with product knowledge and friendly recommendations. The position suits candidates who thrive in a fast‑paced café environment, can multitask during peak periods, and take pride in beverage quality and presentation. You will work closely with the Head Barista and FOH team to deliver a seamless guest experience, support seasonal menu rollouts, and help maintain inventory and portion control. Local candidates eligible to work in the UAE are preferred. Shortlisted applicants will be invited to interviews and practical checks.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Beverage Preparation
    • Pull consistent espresso shots, steam and texture milk, and prepare signature and seasonal drinks to recipe standards.
    • Brew filter coffee and alternative methods when required; maintain extraction and temperature control.
  • Station Management
    • Keep the coffee station clean, organised, and stocked; follow daily cleaning and maintenance checklists.
    • Perform routine equipment care: backflush group heads, clean steam wands, and report faults.
  • Guest Engagement
    • Greet guests, explain menu items, make recommendations, and handle simple guest queries courteously.
    • Upsell add‑ons and promote seasonal beverages and bakery pairings.
  • Quality Control and Consistency
    • Monitor shot times, grind settings, and milk texture; participate in tastings and calibrations.
    • Follow portion control and presentation guidelines for consistency.
  • Inventory and Cash Handling Support
    • Track consumables, report low stock to the Store Keeper, and assist with basic stock counts.
    • Process orders via POS and assist with cash handling when required.
  • Hygiene and Safety
    • Adhere to HACCP and FOH hygiene standards; follow allergen and cross‑contamination procedures.
    • Maintain personal presentation and safe working practices.

Requirements

  • Experience
    • 6 months–2 years barista experience preferred; café or patisserie background advantageous.
  • Technical Skills
    • Solid espresso extraction, milk‑texturing, and basic latte art skills; familiarity with grinder and machine maintenance.
    • Knowledge of coffee origins, roast profiles, and basic brewing methods.
  • Personal Attributes
    • Friendly, customer‑focused, punctual, and able to work under pressure.
    • Good communication skills and a collaborative team mindset.
  • Operational
    • Comfortable with flexible shifts including weekends and public holidays.
    • Eligible to work in the UAE; fluent English required, additional languages an advantage.
