Job Description:

Louzan Fashion Hospitality is seeking a skilled and passionate Roastery Specialist to join our team. As a Roastery Specialist, you will be responsible for overseeing the roasting of coffee beans, ensuring the highest quality, and helping to create the perfect coffee experience for our customers. You will play an essential role in ensuring the consistency and flavor profiles of our coffee, educating staff, and creating an exceptional coffee experience. Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the roasting process for various types of coffee beans, ensuring the correct temperature and roast levels.
• Experiment with different roasting profiles and techniques to create distinct and flavorful coffee.
• Maintain the roastery equipment and ensure it is in optimal working condition.
• Perform regular quality control checks to ensure that roasted coffee beans meet the company’s quality standards.
• Collaborate with the Head Barista and other team members to create new coffee blends and offerings.
• Educate and train staff on the roasting process and the flavor profiles of different coffee beans.
• Monitor and manage inventory levels of raw coffee beans, placing orders as necessary.
• Ensure proper storage of roasted beans to maintain their freshness and flavor.
• Maintain a clean and organized roastery space, adhering to health and safety standards.
• Stay updated on trends and advancements in the coffee industry, experimenting with new roasting techniques or beans.
• Provide guidance and expertise in coffee-related matters, including offering suggestions for brewing methods and blends to customers or team members.

Job Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Roastery Specialist or in a similar role, with a strong knowledge of coffee roasting techniques and equipment.
• Deep understanding of coffee beans, roasting profiles, and the impact on flavor.
• Passion for coffee and commitment to producing high-quality coffee products.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain consistency in roasting.
• Ability to educate and train team members on coffee roasting and related processes.
• Knowledge of coffee brewing methods and equipment.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative team mindset.
• Flexibility to work in shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Coffee certifications, such as those from the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA), are a plus.
• Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.
